. . . . . . . . . . . . Hourglass . . . . . . . . . . . .

.
Without thought, from girlhood,   

she had hoarded the sands   

of sleep in an hourglass.   

Her lashes were long,   

until the age    

of   

reason when   

the scales of dream   

fell from her eyes and at   

last she reckoned that, in truth,   

she’d lived no longer than five minutes.
