                         For those who would a war declare


                             we flung our hats up in the air,

                         fall where they may, without a care, 

                        then fought like dogs for hats to wear.

Three days later, on August 4th 1914, Great Britain declared war on Germany, a reciprocal decision that saw the start of World War One, claiming over 16 million lives and 20 million casualties.
